This is the kind app to use when you want to get a drone sound going. I have to say I wasn't very interested in most if the sounds that this app makes but I thought it was a okay app.

Harsh sounds, not for the ambient. Seems like it could be developed more. Could be quite a bit more. Bouncing satellites could create interactive sounds, less harsh sounds. More arcade flavor. Etc. Love the idea.

You drive a cute spacecraft around the screen to control the pitch and frequency modulation. Theres about 20 different fm presets and it sounds great, think old doctor who with the tardis taking off, old sci-fi and horror movies, lasers and ufo's. I got a great eeirie ghost pad that morphed into a theremin then a time machine and saved it as a .wav. I love it, Thanks Dev. Edit-The special thing is that it dosent just track where you are but where you've been before, always morphing. Deep and lots of fun!

I had to work a few moments, but csme up with a few nifty, unique ringtones and notifications that nobody else has, but always get asked where I got them from. Made it myself is not what they expect to hear!. Thanks for this.

Very fun. Great sounds. Could have more settings like sensitivity and maybe settings for each sound but still very much worth your time.

About this app

Flyby Synth generates complex stereo sounds using FM synthesis (frequency modulation). They mostly have a noise-like quality, like science fiction sound effects.
You can save the sounds, e.g. to use them as Ringtones.

The generated sound is continuously modified by moving the space probe across the screen. This is typically done by tilting the phone or tablet. If this is not supported by the your device, then simply move the space craft's position by tapping the screen in different locations.

For best results slowly move the space probe all over the galaxy and stars on the screen passing through all areas of the screen at some stage.

For a different kind of sound manipulation change into Boost mode.

When listening to the sounds through your headphones or when plugging your phone into a stereo you get weird acoustical sensations.

If you like a sound you have just created press the Stop button, then open the menu (Menu button on your phone) and select the Save option. This way you can save the sound as WAV file to your SD card. You can also select whether you would like the saved sound to be used as Ringtone, Music, Alert or Notification (See Preferences Menu).

Troubleshooting
On devices with high-resolution displays the space probe movements, and hence the sound changes can be a bit slow. Speed up the movement by tapping on different parts of the screen.
