When you subscribe and have the app, you can read either the app or the website. The app is disappointing: the news is presented in a single column list with a big picture at the top of each story. There seems no way to go to categories, puzzles etc. BUT you do avoid the intrusive videos that infest the website. In other respects, I prefer the website. The journalism is fine, the star is dropped because of the inflexible design of the app.

App 'functions' well enough but latest update, yet again, has barely any features of the website. Stories are often old or out of order and saving stories, for later reading, does not sync between app and website. Unable to search or read by author properly and this often fails. A very poor app has got worse. Much, much work still needs done with this. The app is almost pointless.

The App needs some work! I click on an article and it opens a completely different one, very frustrating. It's also not particularly user friendly.

Have tried to log in without success. Changed password, even set up new account with my second email. Keeps saying "problem with authorisation service". Not good enough. Cancelling subscription. Help and customer service non existent. Shame, because the paper itself is excellent, but I cannot read it on my Android smartphone, only Fire tablet

Wanted to support independent journalism. As other have said, the quality of the writing is good. But limited number of articles and doesn't allow me to curate the content that I'm interested in. I spent far too much time scrolling past articles in search of anything I wanted to read. The news aggregator I use is better at serving up Independent articles I'm interested in than your own app is...

Pretty useless. We browser access is better. Not sure now why I paid for a subscription.
