About us
Greenwood High School was founded by Sri Challa Dharma Reddy and Sri Girrem Bharadwaja Naidu in the 2003 – 2004 academic year as a co-educational, residential school. The school has been set up by Akarshmanasa Educational Society, a non-profit making
society registered under The Societies Registration Act (1860).

The school aims to ensure that its students achieve their highest academic and personal potential. It also aims to give them a firm foundation based upon an understanding of Indian culture, society and ideas. However, the school aims to use that base to build more globally aware citizens prepared for the challenges of the 21st century. This is achieved through the curriculum, through visits, expeditions, exchange programs and various school events such as debates, competitions, project works etc.

The school educates both boys and girls in classes IV to X (age groups 8 to 15) using the State Board Syllabus. Teaching is conducted in English as medium of instruction in small classes with numbers limited to a maximum of 35. This allows the school to have a desirable high teacher-student ratio, which ensures that individual needs can be assessed and individual help and support given.
During the academic year i.e. 2009 – 2010 the school stretched its wings by setting up a Day cum Semi Residential School at Hunter Road Hanamkonda. Here in this new venture both the State and CBSE syllabuses have been adopted. Admissions are open in this Day School for Classes Kindergarten to Class X.

The Residential school has been built to accommodate 1450 students in a sprawling green pasture of eleven acres. It consists of three lovely concrete buildings; one for the school, one for the residence of the boys and the other for the residence of the girls. All these three buildings are equipped with the finest of the fine furniture and fittings. Its facilities allow students to participate in variety of activities. This ensures that each student can discover and develop his own individual talents. By this the school aims at creating all round development lm the students and empowering them to achieve their highest academic potential and shaping a holistic personality.
Besides these three huge structures a semi concrete structure houses a spacious Dining Hall with a capacity of 700 children at a time and the kitchen with the latest equipment where the food is cooked for the students and the staff. The food served is highly balanced, nutritious and mouth watering to many a young tongue.
