Most Rev.Dr.William Bouter of Mill Hill society,London,the first Bishop of Nellore served this diocese for about 42 years. He was then succeeded by Rt.Rev. Dr. Thumma Showry, Whose period lasted for about 7 years. He was then succeeded by Bishop Most Rev. Dr. P.C. Balaswamy in 1974. He served this diocese for about 32 years. Then most Rev .Dr. M.D. Prakasam took over the charge in January 17th 2007.

In the year 1979,late Rev.Fr.Y.Anthony Reddy,who was the then, correspondent of St.Peter's high school,director of St.Peter's boarding home,conceived the primary idea, of establishing an English medium school for the people of this locality. As the memory of Late Bishop Thumma Showry was still fresh in his heart then, in consultation and with the encouragement, of Bishop emeritus Rt.Rev.Dr.P.C. Balaswamy, he baptized this school in honour of Bishop Thumma Showry,the second Bishop of Nellore. Thus our English medium school obtained it's name from him. After a lot of initial hardships and labour on 1st of june 1979, the school had its humble beginning with classes starting from L.K.G to V std.


Education is not merely, accumulation of knowledge and information, but formation of one's personality and refined character, with true values. Therefore, we are also going emphasize more, on the moral instruction and value oriented formation of the students. Like any of other Christian institutions of education, our school too, will have its own speciality, in the educational formation of our students through our personal touch and emphasis, on discipline and character. We are confident that the parents could see and understand this difference only later, as the students grow up in to mature persons.
