Appalling, try to open a book and it crashes every time and takes you back to main phone screen. Don't bother, use something that works

Today I noticed all my downloaded content is no longer downloaded. Sigh. There is NO way to track listened to vs unlistened to content!. Trying to carefully manage what is downloaded vs not seemed the only way... And even that doesn't work. Some non collectors might say delete it from your library after you listen but you can't do that either. The only way apparently is to have a good memory or a list you keep elsewhere.

Great app , only issues I have are even if I've downloaded a book to listen offline sometimes I still need to connect to my data to get the book to play when it randomly stops during a chapter and I would love it to support phone headphones a bit more so I can pause my book without unlocking my phone when im out but other than that no issues at all

My downloads keep disappearing! This is unacceptable. I downloaded the same book twice and it quickly disappeared when I was offline. This has happened many times.

While it seems great it doesn't keep the books I downloaded. Went to play one while on the underground and none of the trilogy were showing so couldn't listen to them. Have now downloaded them again so will see how it goes...

Last week I began using this app to listen to a series of audiobooks that I received free codes for. As a user, the app isn't very good, esp compared to the Audible app. The issue I am running into occurs when I'm listening to the book on my phone (Samsung), which is how I do the majority of my listening. If I put the phone in my pocket, the app pauses when I move. It does this multiple times. It doesn't matter if the front of the phone is against my body or pointed away, nor if it's open to the app, or if I've pushed the button to display the home screen while the app runs in the background. I haven't kept track, but when I'm walking I hold the phone in my hand because it's so bad. There are times when I can't hold the phone, such as while doing chores around the house, cooking/doing dishes, or working in the yard. So I either can't use it, or I just have to accept that I will be having an annoyance-filled listen. Another issue is while my phone's home screen will display a pause/play button while running the background, it doesn't work, The app has paused the book but it still displays w/ the pause icon, as if it were still playing. I can tap it until the cows come home - it never changes. This feature works on my phone for Audible's app, but not for your app. Everyone I know uses a pass code on their phone, including me, which automatically activates after a very brief period of time, usually under five minutes. So, during 99% of the multiple pauses I'm experiencing, I have to punch in my pass code and open the app. The app will also pause - intermittently - when I get a text. All of these issues are barriers to end user ease of use. Please work on improving your app; you're going up against Amazon, so your app has to be just as good as theirs. I want alternative services like Authors Direct to succeed if only so authors aren't at the complete mercy of Amazon like they are now. As it stands, your app does not cut it. I bought the third book in the series via your app, but only because I bought it from the author, whom I presume will get a better royalty because of the direct sale. I WANT TO USE YOUR APP! But, it's got improve. I want options beyond Amazon, but your app is not giving me any incentive to switch from Audible. I'm more than happy to switch from Audible because monopolies suck, but you're got to supply a quality user interface. Customers shouldn't have to sacrifice quality for wanting to take their business to Amazon alternatives.
