Una guida per scoprire il ricco e variegato patrimonio forestale italiano attraverso gli alberi più diffusi. L'APP Alberi in Italia è nata da un’idea di FederlegnoArredo e i contenuti tecnico-scientifici sono a cura del Responsabile dell’Ufficio Foreste della stessa. Ogni albero ha una scheda descrittiva in cui sono riportate le principali informazioni botaniche: habitat, caratteristiche tecnologiche, impiego del legno e, soprattutto, tante curiosità che rendono la lettura interessante ed educativa per tutti, specialmente per un pubblico non esperto. Scoprirai, ad esempio, che non esiste un solo tipo di Quercia e che l’Acacia è una falsa Robinia. Imparerai a riconoscere gli alberi più comuni e caratteristici dei nostri territori: Roma, ad esempio, è piena di Ippocastani che producono castagne non commestibili, a differenza di quelle prodotte dal Castagno comune di cui sono piene la Campania, il Lazio, il Piemonte e la Lombardia. E poi ancora, il legno di risonanza dell’Abete rosso, che cresce solo in ristrette aree del Trentino (Paneveggio), è “complice” della buona musica perché impiegato nella produzione delle casse armoniche di strumenti musicali tra i più esclusivi e pregiati; l’Ulivo è la specie più longeva in Italia mentre l’Ailanto, un albero introdotto in Italia nella seconda metà dell’800 si sta diffondendo a macchia d’olio al punto da essere considerata ormai una pianta invadente. Ogni albero ha una storia e tanto da raccontarci, la natura si trasforma ogni giorno e iniziare a conoscerla meglio è un primo passo per averne cura.
