This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing USB MIDI Monitor on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

Doesnt work for me

Starts when i connect novation launchpad s to galaxy s3. However then m_connectedmidi = null and currentmidi = null appear and no data is captured. On a midi keyboard captured only pitchwheel control messages, but no note messages or velocity. on akai lpd8 works flawlessly :D

Galaxy Tab 2, 7", older version and M-audio Oxygen 61 midi keyboard. Using a 30 pin to USB female dongle and USB A/B cables. I'm very happy to use it to test output as I learn Midi.

Oneplus one and korg nano. I wonder how to use my nano within a DJ app. Audio evolution doesn't recognize it though.

About this app

The USB MIDI Monitor lets you view all incoming MIDI events from your USB MIDI interface. The events are timestamped and the event type, MIDI channel and values are displayed in a scrollable table. For control changes, extra information is displayed if the control change is a known type like volume or panning.


Note that this app requires the following items:
* Android 3.2 or higher
* Tablet or phone with USB host support
* USB MIDI interface that works without drivers on Windows or OSX
* If your device has a micro-USB connector: a micro-USB to USB OTG cable (around 7 to 10 euro)
