This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing Exploring The Core Math K-8 on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. I think this is going to be a great App. HOWEVER, I am having problems accessing the "state standards" when I click on the link it doesn't seem to do anything. Can you fix this?

What a great and useful tool!

Once I identify a student need, I use this app to quickly refresh my memory as to what was expected for that skill in prior grades. I check to see what grade-level the student got stuck in that skill and scaffold from there. Because the state standards are linked, it's easy to jot down exactly what standards I'm addressing.

Exploring The Core is the best way to *see* what is in the Common Core State Standards. This app presents all math standards for grades K-8 and is the first of a developing series that illustrates each grade-level skill in - and across - grade levels.

With this app, teachers and parents can see the Common Core State Standard for each grade-level skill, see what each of those skills look like, and "swipe" to see how each skill develops in and between grade-levels. Searchable Standards and Glossary features are also included to eliminate the need for lugging heavy binders of standards and education-specific dictionaries around with you.
