This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing LACNIC Events on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. The app has an important bug. It offers to add events to the Google Calendar, but it doesn't send timezone info, so a conference scheduled for 9:30 AM Costa Rica time (UTC-6) is added to the calendar at 9:30 AM UTC time (that is, 1:30 AM Costa Rica time).

About this app

As part of its efforts to promote the creation of synergies and initiatives for the construction of an open, stable and secure Internet in Latin America and the Caribbean, LACNIC organizes two annual events in different cities throughout the region.

The LACNIC Events app will allow participants to set up meetings with other attendees, create and maintain their public profiles, keep their calendars up to date, and receive updates and announcements from the event organizers.
