KUTX (98.9 FM ) es una estación de radio no comercial con licencia para Leander, Texas y que sirve al área metropolitana de Austin, Texas , con un formato alternativo de álbum para adultos . [2] La estación es propiedad de la Universidad de Texas en Austin con sede en el Centro Belo para Nuevos Medios (A0704) en el campus de la Universidad de Texas en Austin .

98.9 firmó en 1988 en 99.1 FM como KLTD, "Kool 99 FM" con el formato " Kool Gold " de Satellite Music Network de Adams Broadcasting, que finalmente se separó del formato Kool Gold para marcar Global . En 1993, KLTD cambió las llamadas a KUTZ y el formato a hard rock como parte de Satellite Music Network - Z Rock Network.
