ELLE 1977 Yılı’nda Türk Kadını’nı dünya modasıyla buluşturma misyonuyla kuruldu. İstanbul Gedikpaşa’da bir atölyede üretime başlayan marka, Rumeli Caddesi’ndeki ilk ELLE mağazası ile ayakkabı mağazacılığında çığır açtı. Kurucuları Fehim Akar ve Hasan Acar’ın vizyonları, kısa sürede ELLE’i sanat çevrelerinin ve modaseverlerin ilgi odağı haline getirdi.

ELLE koleksiyonları, çalışma hayatında aktif rol oynayan ve modernleşen Türk kadınının giyim alışkanlığını yeniden tanımladı; kadınları babet, mokasen ve postalla tanıştırdı.
