Do you listen to music while in traffic? With all the danger associated with it you probably should stop, but if you still listen, this application might help.

Just as easy as starting your music player, you could start Earception and start playing music with your regular music player. This application aims to enhance your perception of the surrounding traffic in certain situations by lowering the volume in your ears.

Do you like listening to music while traveling on a straight line with no other traffic? But dislike that it's too loud when approaching an intersection or when something happens? This application can lower your music when you are decelerating fast enough, like when slowing down before an intersection. You will also have the possibility to add geofences, for example an intersection or some other place that you would like to be aware of, and the application lowers the volume in these areas.

Reading your notifications out loud is nothing new. But it's very inconvenient to access Settings/Accessibility and tapping a couple of times each time to toggle the function. Earception lets you integrate (or just use solely by disabling the other features) this function with the geofence and motion based safety service, and let's you enable or disable just by the click of a widget or icon, or configure your NFC-tag to do that.

There is also a timer so that you can keep aware of the time without the need to manually check the phone.

If you just like some of the features there is a lot of preferences and modifications waiting for you. If you like the application, want to remove the annoyance message or would like to unlock all of the preferences please buy a subscription and the application will be further developed.

This application uses some permissions that might make you cautious. Earception does not store or send any personal or non-personal data from your device. The internnet connection is solely for enabling the map functions and handling subscriptions.
