This app is very useless if you're trying to listen to Sirius XM. It does not recognize login credentials properly. After years of using the XM portion of the app, it decides to not accept login anymore with no rhyme or reason. It has become a very frustrating and disappointing experience. (Update) 3 days later and the xm portion of the app is now functioning properly.

Edit: still terrible after all these years. Stero pairs just wont work. Worst app I have ever used! Endless fiddling to get music to play. Too many screens. Lots of data dropouts and music stops. Many times it just stops and says communication lost. Updates for the last 3 years have not addressed problems. Ui is horrible. favorite internet music sources no longer supported: Format not supported.

App connectivity gets worse and worse. After latest android update app will only stay connected to speakers if the phone is unlocked, otherwise stops streaming about 3 minutes after phone locks. Previously would stream as long as the app was the active app prior to phone locking. Edit: Wow, that actually seemed to fix the issue. I've been fighting with the connection drops for over 6 months! Great response and support, thank you. Review updated.

The most recent update is rendered the system completely unusable. Whenever I about to play Pandora through the app, after about three songs, the app "loses" connectivity. Music stops and I need to reset the app. Before I get some lame excuse about rebooting the router and diagnosing other network issues, all that has been tried. The app sucks, and this version is broken. When Play-Fi works, I love the service. However, it definitely suffers from a reliability perspective...

I have to reboot a pair of speakers every time I want to use them, sometimes multiple times. They are set up as a stereo pair. Often music will only play out of the left channel even though the right channel is connected to the router. Also Spotify connect won't stream smoothly to wireless Play-Fi devices by themselves. I have to start a steam with a separate wired device then add the wireless devices to the group. This often means playing music in an unoccupied room.

Its unreal how many issues I've had with this. Cannot recommend in any way at all. Their support tries to help, but I've had issues for over a year and I still cannot stream music still. Now with this new update it refuses to recognize my NAS server, and also the music listed on my phone for some reason does not have a Playlist option. So basically all the time I've spent on playlists is meaningless. Just trash.

About this app

Breakthrough DTS Play-Fi(R) technology powers simple, great-sounding whole-home wireless audio systems for smartphones and tablets. You can stream your favorite tunes over Wi-Fi right from the Play-Fi app to speakers from DTS Play-Fi product partners. It's a huge step up from Bluetooth - the audio quality and reliability are outstanding, and you can enjoy music from your phone in one room, or all your rooms.

The "Hi-Fi over Wi-Fi" listening experience is just a touch away, thanks to this handy app. Choose a speaker, choose a song, and your favorite tunes are streaming all through the house.

The app offers built-in streaming options: stream from worldwide music services such as Tidal and Deezer; use AM/FM and Internet radio, connect to DLNA servers, or play anything from your devices’ music library, including your playlists. The app automatically organizes and indexes the music for you.

The app also handles set-up for your speakers, and gives you full control of volume and speaker selection. Choose one, or stream to all of them at once.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you have a Play-Fi product from Polk Audio, Definitive Technology, Wren, or Phorus, please search for and download the custom Play-Fi app for your audio brand.

Please also note that the Play-Fi app is companion software to audio products enabled with Play-Fi technology. It is not intended as a stand-alone audio player.
