বেদে জ্ঞান হল প্রাচীন ভারতে লিপিবদ্ধ তত্ত্বজ্ঞান-সংক্রান্ত একাধিক গ্রন্থের একটি বৃহৎ সংকলন। বৈদিক সংস্কৃত ভাষায় রচিত বেদই সংস্কৃত সাহিত্যের প্রাচীনতম নিদর্শন এবং সনাতন ধর্মের সর্বপ্রাচীন পবিত্র ধর্মগ্রন্থ।সনাতনরা বেদকে অপৌরুষেয় পুরুষ দ্বারা কৃত নয়, অলৌকিক এবং নৈর্বক্তিক ও রচয়িতা-শূন্য (যা নিরাকার নির্গুণ ঈশ্বর-সম্বন্ধীয় এবং যার কোনও রচয়িতা নেই) মনে করেন।

বেদকে শ্রুতি (যা শ্রুত হয়েছে) সাহিত্যও বলা হয়।এইখানেই সনাতন ধর্মের অন্যান্য ধর্মগ্রন্থগুলির সঙ্গে বেদের পার্থক্য। কারণ, সনাতন ধর্মের অন্যান্য ধর্মগ্রন্থগুলিকে বলা হয় স্মৃতি (যা স্মরণধৃত হয়েছে) সাহিত্য। প্রচলিত মতে বিশ্বাসী সনাতন ধর্মতত্ত্ববিদদের মতে, বেদ প্রাচীন ঋষিদের গভীর ধ্যানে প্রকাশিত হয়েছিল এবং প্রাচীনকাল থেকেই এই শাস্ত্র অধিকতর যত্নসহকারে রক্ষিত হয়ে আসছে।সনাতন মহাকাব্য মহাভারতে ব্রহ্মাকে বেদের স্রষ্টা বলে উল্লেখ করা হয়েছে।যদিও বৈদিক স্তোত্রগুলিতে বলা হয়েছে, একজন সূত্রধর যেমন নিপূণভাবে রথ নির্মাণ করেন, ঠিক তেমনই ঋষিগণ দক্ষতার সঙ্গে বেদ গ্রন্থনা করেছেন।
