About this app

Blended learning offers a rich context that provides relevant interactions for language learners and allows for technology integration in the language classroom. This realization has led to this thesis project, a virtual language learning environment that offers teachers and learners an online platform where they can easily interact and benefit from the latest applications of Google products in the classroom. Google products are designed to be easy to use, and they are available for everyone. Integrating tools like Google Sites, Blogger, YouTube, Google Drive, Google Hangouts, Google+, Google Docs, Google Forms and Google Classroom, allows users to participate in a virtual learning environment. In addition the necessary computer skills are minimal. The website for this project introduces technological immigrants to basic and advanced features of Google products that respond to the needs of language learners. At the same time the website equips teachers with a comprehensive collection of activities that integrate Google technologies in the classroom. This project offers a space that connects the whole learning community: students, parents, teachers, principal, and the local community while the teacher still keeps the ability to moderate all interactions. Finally, this project intends that students’ mobile devices become assets rather than distractions.
