Disebabkan dia telah meninggalkan syahwat dan makanan karena-Ku. Bagi orang yang berpuasa akan mendapatkan dua kebahagiaan yaitu kebahagiaan ketika dia berbuka dan kebahagiaan ketika berjumpa dengan Rabbnya. Sungguh bau mulut orang yang berpuasa lebih harum di sisi Allah daripada bau minyak kasturi.” (HR. Muslim)

Pintu-pintu Surga dibuka pada hari Senin dan Kamis. Maka semua hamba yang tidak menyekutukan Allah dengan sesuatu apapun akan diampuni dosa-dosanya, kecuali seseorang yang antara dia dan saudaranya terjadi permusuhan. Lalu dikatakan, ‘Tundalah pengampunan terhadap kedua orang ini sampai keduanya berdamai, tundalah pengampunan terhadap kedua orang ini sampai keduanya berdamai, tundalah pengam-punan terhadap kedua orang ini sampai keduanya berdamai.” (HR. Muslim).

Sesungguhnya di surga ada satu pintu yang namanya “Ar-Rayyan,” yang akan di masuki oleh orang-orang yang sering berpuasa kelak pada hari kiamat, tidak akan masuk dari pintu itu kecuali orang yang suka berpuasa. di katakan : manakah orang-orang yang suka berpuasa? maka mereka pun berdiri dan tidak masuk lewat pintu itu kecuali mereka, jika mereka telah masuk, maka pintu itu di tutup sehingga tidak seorang pun masuk melaluinya lagi.” (HR Bukhori dan Muslim).
