Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing RSN on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.

About this app

Esta aplicación le permite reportar los sismos sentidos en todo el territorio costarricense. Recibirá notificaciones cada vez que ocurra un sismo relevante y por medio de un cuestionario sabrá con qué intensidad sintió el sismo reportado. Podrá observar, mediante un mapa de Costa Rica, todos los reportes registrados por usuarios de la aplicación categorizados por sismo. Además, ofrece información sobre todos los sismos que se registran en Costa Rica mediante un mapa de ubicación de epicentros y un listado de las principales características detalladas por cada sismo.

La Red Sismológica Nacional (RSN) fue creada mediante un convenio entre la Sección de Sismología, Vulcanología y Exploración Geofísica de la Escuela Centroamericana de Geología de la Universidad de Costa Rica (UCR) y el Área de Amenazas y Auscultación Sismológica y Volcánica del Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (ICE). Su misión es desarrollar conocimiento científico sobre la geodinámica interna de la Tierra, para transferirlo a la sociedad costarricense a través de la docencia y la acción social, de manera que pueda ser aplicado en los planes de gestión del riesgo, ordenamiento territorial y atención de emergencias en Costa Rica.
