Diamond Platnumz (in Swahili: Naseeb Abdul Juma) 1, born October 2, 1989 in Tandale, Dar es Salaam, is a Tanzanian singer, dancer and composer of Bongo Flava.
He has had several hit songs including Number One in which he introduced Nigerian artist Davido. Diamond has won numerous awards at Channel O and the HiPipo Music Awards. He played at the expulsion show of Big Brother Africa 7 in May 2012. Diamond has been considered influential among his fans, and is considered to be the most beloved and decorated Tanzanian artist at the moment. He was considered the best-selling Tanzanian artist of ringtones by mobile phone companies in 2013, as well as one of the top-earning artists in the music industry in the Great Lakes region of Africa.
Diamond2 is Muslim. In 2010, he endorsed Tanzania's ruling ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) and presidential candidate Jakaya Kikwete. He also recorded a remix of his single Mbagala, entitled CCM Tusonge Mbele (CCM Let's Move Forward).
Diamond was currently jointly managed by Babu Tale and Said Fella of the Tanzanian music industry. In February 2018, he launched his new Wasafi television and radio in Tanzania.
On May 3, 2014, Diamond Platnumz set a new record at the Tanzania Music Awards by winning 7 awards, including Best Male Writer, Best Male Artist, Best Composer, and Best Male Host of the Year. The previous record was set at 20%, an artist who won 5 prizes at the Tanzania Music Awards 2011 where the diamond left empty handed. Prior to the achievements, Diamond won the record of 3 awards at the Tanzania Music Awards 2010.
