About this app

A PixelNut! device is a Arduino compatible micro-controller hardware based smart lighting system using WS2812B (Neopixel) or APA102 (DotStar) lighting strips.

Current products include both battery powered hats with at least 30 pixels, hand-held boards that come with 1 meter of 144 pixels, as well as large wall-powered indoor/outdoor installations that can support at least 300 pixels.

Some are entirely controlled with physical controls, while others can be controlled with this Android application by using Bluetooth or WiFi communications.

This application allows easily changing the effect pattern, brightness and animation speed, modifying color and count properties, and triggering changes to the effect. You can even give your device its own unique name.

The PixelNut! System is the combination of an application that creates command strings to define effect patterns which is used by the PixelNutLib Library, along with its collection of Effect Plugins, to create animations on standard LED pixel strands.

It is highly extensible and can be fully customized: you simply edit text strings to create new effect patterns, and write very small and simple C++ classes to create your own effect plugins.
