কুরআনের ১৮ নম্বর সূরা ‘সূরা কাহাফ’। এটি অত্যন্ত ফজিলতপূর্ণ একটি সূরা, যা মক্কায় অবতীর্ণ হয়। এর আয়াত সংখ্যা ১১০। হজরত আনাস রাদিয়াল্লাহু আনহু হতে বর্ণিত, এ পুর্ণাঙ্গ সূরাটি এক সঙ্গে নাজিল হয়েছে এবং এর সঙ্গে ৭০ হাজার ফিরিস্তা দুনিয়াতে আগমন করেছেন। এ সূরার কিছু তথ্য জাগো নিউজে তুলে ধরা হলো-
নামকরণ

এ সূরায় আসহাবে কাহাফ তথা ওই সব মুমিন যুবক যারা দ্বীনকে সংরক্ষণের জন্য নিজেদের কোনো এক পাহাড়ের একটি গুহায় আত্মগোপনে রেখেছিলেন। তাদের ঘটনা বর্ণিত হওয়ায় এ সূরার নামকরণ করা হয়েছে সূরা কাহাফ

হজরত আবু দারদা রাদিয়াল্লাহু আনহু হতে বর্ণিত আছে, যে সূরা কাহাফের প্রথম ১০ আয়াত মুখস্ত করে সে দাজ্জালের ফিৎনা হতে নিরাপদ থাকবে। তাঁর থেকে আরেকটি রেওয়ায়েতে শেষ ১০ আয়াতের ব্যাপারে উল্লিখিত ফজিলতের বর্ণনা রয়েছে। (মুসলিম, আবু দাউদ, তিরমিজি, নাসাঈ ও মুসনাদে আহমদ) সুতরাং প্রথম বা শেষ ১০ আয়াত অথবা উভয় দিক দিয়ে মোট ২০ আয়াত যে মুখস` করবে সেও উল্লিখিত ফজিলতের অন্তর্ভুক্ত হবে।
