Putting on your helmet and riding your motorcycle makes you feel a bit like a super hero. But getting on and off your bike all the time can become a little tedious, and every super hero needs a Sidekick for help with those tiny, annoying tasks.

I made Sidekick because I wanted to be able to get on my bike and start riding as quickly as possible.

One of the things that used to slow me down was my phone.

Before getting on my bike I had to take off my gloves, pull out my phone, turn the brightness all the way up so that I could see the screen properly when the sun was shining on it, turn up the volume all the way because the noise from the bike and the wind was really loud, launch my music player and the navigation app, and then hopefully remember to plug my charger in.

When I got off the bike I had to do the opposite - turn the brightness down to save battery, turn the volume down so my phone wasn't crazy loud during meetings at work, shutdown the music player and navigation, and then text my partner to let her know I got to work without dying.

Sidekick does all of this automatically (and more) when it detects the Bluetooth headset from your helmet is connected to your phone.

When your Bluetooth headset is connected/disconnected:

* Turns the brightness and volume up/down
* Opens/closes Navigation and Music player
* Starts playing your music once you start moving - so you can still hear what's around you before you pull away
* Alerts you if you forget to plug your phone charger in
* Adjusts volume based on your speed, so you don't go deaf sitting in traffic with the volume turned all the way up
* Sends a message to a specified contact when you arrive/leave work or school
* Replies to text messages while your helmet is connected with your speed and location
