Works everytime. Thought I'd share what it took to get going. Tried 5 hubs (power/no power, power pass through), 3 diff DVD/Blu-ray drives, lots of cables, adapter's, power packs and found. 1: hubs don't work (any kind). 2: external drives with one socket (that use Y split cable for data/power) don't work. 3: You can't plug drive directly into tablet. So, plug genuine OTG adaptor into tablet, use drive with separate power/data sockets, plug drive into OTG & power (separately). Hope this helps.

I've been using CD Ripper for a couple of days now to rip some music CDs to my Android tablet. I'm running Android 10 on a Samsung tablet with an ASUS CD drive. The drive works well and couples with Android nicely. I changed my review to 2 stars because when it works, it works very well. However it freezes quite often and won't recognize the CD drive. I paid for the unlimited ripping because I have quite a few CDs to rip. Asking for my money back.

Brilliant, used CD Ripper and a cheap cd drive to transfer my cd collection to wav format on my mobile phone. I had the unlimited rip option, and thank to gracenote, all of the albums and tracks were all listed for me. This saved me so much time, I did most of my cds in one afternoon. Tried two other apps before this one, and both did not find the cd drive. CD Ripper worked first time, and flawlessly through out.

Good ripper long overdue to Android users so well done that developer. Very clean UI and very easy to use. Lookups seem to be fast as is the ripping. MP3 users will be disappointed though as MP3 is not supported. I use primarily for FLAC rips and use a separate converter after if I need MP3 but it's a shame it is not included. In all other respects a good app.

Seriously happy with this. I do not use a laptop in this day and age. My phone, Samsung Galaxy Note 9 on Android 9 is more than powerful enough. So I bought a £10 CD drive from Amazon, (one with a plug in power supply, as wasn't sure phone had the juice), a USB C to B lead and the £10 one off charge to CD Ripper, and for £25 I can now copy my whole CD selection (300+) to my phone. First CD I loaded, Blondie Essential, took 15 secs to find and load the album pics etc then ripped it. Flawless.

Showed great promise when it found an inserted CD in my external drive flashing up Track Data and CD cover almost in an instant but beyond that could do not rip the trial 30 second clips of tracks nor could I find the new "One Time" app purchase option. Also could do with a native player to preview tracks for ripping and an MP3 option. It just could have been so much better - sorry developers ):

About this app

Our CD Ripper app is the easiest way to rip your CDs to files without having to spend time editing each song's metadata. We'll do all that for you.

Pop the CD in the drive, and let the app take care of everything else. After a few seconds, our integrated Gracenote look-up service will identify the song from an online database. The artist name, song title, album title, album artwork and genre tags will then be added to the song’s file.

You can choose which format you’d like your CDs converted to: AAC, WAV or FLAC.

Unfortunately, you can’t directly attach your phone to the CD ripping device, so you’re going to need some equipment.

Firstly, you need a DVD-RW Drive. You’ll need a USB hub, connected to a power outlet, to power the drive. Finally, you need an adapter cable.

To see which equipment we recommend, and for more information and FAQs, check out our website: http://www.convert-av.com/apps/convert-cd-ripper-app/
