About this app

עמיר בניון נולד בבאר שבע בכ"ג אלול התשל"ה (30.8.1975) לאסתר ומקסים בניון. עמיר הוא אוטודידקט במוסיקה ומעולם לא למד מוסיקה באופן קונבנציונלי. הוא גדל בבית בו המוסיקה תפסה מקום מרכזי (אביו נגן עוד ובמשך שנים ארוכות הופיע כנגן וזמר), ובמשך השנים נחשף לקשת רחבה מאוד של סגנונות מוסיקליים, החל ממוסיקה ערבית ומרוקאית, דרך מוסיקה ארץ ישראלית (מלחינים כמו רוזנבלום ושמר שאהובים עליו במיוחד), וכלה במוסיקה קלאסית מערבית.

עמיר החל לכתוב שירים בגיל צעיר מאוד, והמוסיקה הייתה הדבר המרכזי בחייו גם בשנים בהן התקשה לכפוף עצמו למסגרות מקובלות. עמיר התגייס לצבא אך שוחרר לאחר מספר ימים, כאשר רשויות הצבא גילו כי הוא סובל מהתמכרות לסמים. השחרור הכפוי מצה"ל היווה אכזבה כבדה וסוג של פעמון אזהרה, ובעקבותיו החל עמיר בתהליך גמילה מוצלח. עקב השחרור עמיר חזר לעבוד עם אביו בעבודות שיפוצים, והחל לחסוך כסף למה שברבות הימים יהיה לאלבומו הראשון והמצליח "רק את".

בשנת 1999 נוצר קשר בין עמיר ובין המפיק המוסיקלי נדב ביטון. עמיר נסע לתל אביב עם שלוש סקיצות שהקליט באולפן קטן בבאר שבע, והשמיע את החומר לביטון ולשותפו המק
