Wie wij zijn:
Basisschool Jeanne d’Arc bevindt zich op steenworp afstand van de Westermarkt. Samen met de Bibliotheek, Wijkcentrum ‘t Sant en dagbestedingscentrum De Vleugel, staan wij midden in de luchthavenbuurt. Onze kinderen komen vooral uit de wijk, al kiezen ook ouders van buiten de wijk bewust voor ons jenaplan onderwijsconcept.

Basisschool Jeanne d’Arc is een kleinschalige jenaplanschool die al sinds 1965 een leerrijke omgeving creëert. Kinderen kunnen zich in een veilige situatie ontwikkelen op sociaal, emotioneel, cognitief en creatief gebied. Een school waar je zoveel mogelijk jezelf mag en kunt zijn. Onze slogan luidt dan ook: “Iedereen uniek, samen sterk.”

Wij willen:
- Alle kinderen de kans bieden om zich te ontwikkelen;
- Oog hebben voor de talenten van kinderen;
- Doelgericht werken vanuit de kerndoelen die door het ministerie zijn vastgesteld;
- De houding van kinderen stimuleren waarin nieuwsgierigheid, verwondering en een gezamenlijke verantwoordelijkheid voor de maatschappij, nu en in de toekomst centraal staan;
- Dat ICT een steeds grotere rol zal spelen bij de ondersteuning van ons onderwijs;
- Recente onderwijsontwikkelingen koppelen aan het jenaplanconcept omdat ze in elkaars verlengde liggen.

Kinderen, ouders en leerkrachten vormen samen de leeromgeving. Het kind heeft hierin een centrale plaats. Wij vinden een goed contact tussen ouders, kinderen en het team van groot belang. Goed onderwijs vraagt om wederzijdse betrokkenheid waarin wederzijdse verwachtingen besproken kunnen worden vanuit een respectvolle houding naar elkaar. Deze visie en de bijbehorende verwachtingen hebben we vastgelegd in het beleidsstuk Educatief partnerschap.
