About this app

Basisschool De Cocon is een Vreedzame (stads)school, waar kinderen naar toe komen om kennis en inzichten te verwerven, maar ook om een aantal houdingen en vaardigheden te leren.
Onze leerkrachten streven daarom een sfeer van rust na, waarin kinderen zich thuis voelen, maar zich vooral ook veilig en geborgen weten. We willen ze op een reële manier, in samenwerking met ouders, voorbereiden op hun verdere leven.

Onze school wil de kinderen ook de kans geven om hun eigen mogelijkheden te ontplooien. Wij willen de kinderen zoveel mogelijk op "maat bedienen". We noemen dit adaptief onderwijs.

We werken in combinatieklassen met het systeem van verlengde instructie.
We hebben gekozen voor combinatieklassen, omdat we de vaardigheden van de leerlingen, die ze geleerd hebben bij de Vreedzame school, verder willen ontwikkelen.
De belangrijkste vaardigheden:
• van en met elkaar leren
• verantwoordelijk zijn voor je eigen leren en je gedrag
• zelfstandigheid bevorderen
• leerlingen moeten andere dingen leren


Daarnaast kunnen we beter aansluiten op de behoeften van kinderen. We geven les aan kleinere groepen en daardoor moeten kinderen actiever zijn.
Ten slotte werkt het team nog meer samen binnen hun bouw, waardoor de kwaliteit van het onderwijs wordt verbeterd.
