About this app

Chennai, with its cultural and ethnic diversity has shown remarkable growth and development in the last few decades. Against this rapid and extensive growth also rose the need for churches that would minister to the increasing number of people who conversed primarily in English. In the year 2000, Tamil Baptist Church, Kilpauk, initiated a ministry, overseen by Pas. Joshua Edwin, to reach the non-Tamil speaking populations with the Gospel. The initial Fellowship Group grew to become a regular worship service conducted in the premises of Tamil Baptist Church on Sundays at 7.00 am. From the year 2010 the worship service was relocated to Bethel Hall, Gurukul Theological Seminary. In the year 2014 it formally took the name Cornerstone Baptist Church.

We are a church that is rooted in the Word of God and as such, expository preaching and teaching form the backbone of the church. Various fellowships, such as the Men’s Fellowship, Women’s Fellowship, Youth Fellowship and Bible Study groups spread across the city provide opportunities to grow in the firm foundation
