About this app

Jess is an app for learning and teaching programming with JavaScript. It is different from other similar apps in 2 important aspects:

1- For learning: when you practice, you're actually executing real JavaScript, not a controlled environment. You will get real error messages, for example. It's more challenging but more effective.

2- For teaching: developers can create new tutorials. The tutorials are not embedded in the app; they can be externally created and loaded. The tutorials are written in YAML files. I have designed the format so the tutorials are easy to create but at the same time they can be as complex as you want (e.g. you may check the student code and logs to accept the solution as correct). In http://codethen.com/jess you will find lesson samples that you can use to know how to create your own.

Summary of features:

- Learn programming on the go by executing real JS
- Extra keyboard keys for easy symbol typing (brackets, quotes, etc.)
- Lessons can be easily added to the app by clicking a lesson link
- Lessons can be created using YAML files (for developers)

New features

First release of the app! Now practice real JavaScript on the go or... create tutorials if you're a developer!
