About this app

During the Louisiana and Houston floods, instead of waiting for the government to come to the rescue, the people used their own privately-owned boats to save their neighbors. People who needed rescue used Facebook and Twitter hashtags to call for help and the “Cajun Navy” of citizens saved thousands. However there are issues with using social media as many hashtags get lost and cries of help can go unanswered. This app is for ordinary citizens to be able to mobilize and assemble voluntary emergency response teams in the event of a disaster.
