The app, developed by award winning teachers, has been created with simplicity and ease of use in mind to help children to become better communicators, writers, readers and thinkers.

The chatta app engages every learner in talk. Combined with the chatta approach the app encourages children to reflect on, review and improve oral language – in a similar way to how written work is redrafted. Adult descriptions provide a powerful model for the children to listen to and allows them to link language to their experiences.

Oral fluency and narrative competence

By linking images and voice recordings, children build up to a deeper understanding of order and sequence, leading to oral fluency and narrative competence. Sharing 'chats' with parents and carers
