O Apocalipse de Paulo é um texto do século IV dC que é dos apócrifos do Novo Testamento [1]. Existe também uma versão etiópica do Apocalipse, na qual é a Virgem Maria ao invés de Paulo que recebe a visão e, por isso, chamado de Apocalipse da Virgem.

O texto não deve ser confundido com o gnóstico Apocalipse Copta de Paulo, com o qual provavelmente não tem nenhuma relação.Apocalipse de Pedro ou Revelação de Pedro é um exemplo de um texto simples e popular do cristianismo primitivo do século II dC. É mais um exemplo da chamada literatura apocalíptica com tons helenísticos. O texto existe em duas versões incompletas de um original grego perdido, uma em grego koiné[1] e outra em etiópico[2] que divergem bastante. O manuscrito grego era desconhecido até que foi descoberto durante escavações por Sylvain Grébaut na estação de 1886-1887 numa necrópole no deserto em Akhmim, no Alto Egito. O fragmento consiste em folhas de pergaminho de um versão grega cuidadosamente depositada no túmulo de um monge cristão no século VIII ou IX d.C. O manuscrito está atualmente no Museu Egípcio, no Cairo. A versão etiópica foi descoberta em 1910. Antes disso, o texto era conhecido apenas pelas frequentes citações em textos cristãos mais antigos. Além disso,alguma fonte perdida comum seria necessária para explicar as similaridades com outros escritos apocalípticos, como o Apocalipse de Esdras, o Apocalipse de Paulo e a Paixão de Santa Perpétua.
