The celebration of this day was started on 26th January 1950 when the Union declared itself as a republic and accepted the constitution of India which is the base of modern India.

The constitution is the guide that makes the country run in a perfect way and it shows that the ultimate power of the country is in the hands of its citizens. On this historical day, the act 1935 was replaced by the constitution, which was originally accepted in Hindi and English by the assembly on January 24, 1950.
