Our school will be offering summer school this year.
Yes! It is already that time of the year, and we are planning our summer school programs for 3rd through 12th graders for the upcoming academic year.
Your child has learned a lot this school year. Summer classes can help your child review the materials he/she has learned this year as well as preview the materials he/she is going to learn in the next school year. Therefore, summer school can help your child continue his/her academic growth and provide a smooth transition into the next school year.
During our summer session, your child(ren) will receive intensive help to build his/her skill level in reading, writing and/or mathematics. Because these skills are so important to success in all subjects, it’s important for your child to attend our summer school.
The 2014 SUMMER session will begin on Monday, June 30, 2014 (Monday). Register by March 31 to receive 20% early registration discount. For more information, enclosed in the envelope are our 2014 Spring Brochure and individual program recommendation.
Let’s take a quick glance at some of the summer classes we will be offering this year.
English Classes: English classes during the summer will focus primarily on improving reading comprehension and writing skills. Here are some of the courses that we are offering: Reading/Writing Skills, Power Writing, Master Reading & Vocabulary, Grammar & Writing Clinic, Success English.
Mathematics Classes: Our math classes will prepare students with problem-solving skills that are necessary for the newly accepted Common Core Standards. Some of our math classes include: Honors Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus, etc.
Bergen Academy Prep: This unique program is designed to emphasize the skills and literary elements that are required to achieve success on the BA and High School Entrance test.
SAT Preparation Classes: If your child is currently in high school, summer would be the best time to prepare for his/her SAT. This summer, we will be offering preparation classes for the PSAT and SAT, as well as SAT subject tests.
Free Online English and Math Program at Home
We have made available three excellent online programs that will boost up the students’ academic performance:
Online Vocabulary Program: We appreciate that many students have participated in this Vocabulary Program that started this past fall. We are continuing the program for the spring semester, so we would like to encourage parents to encourage their children to continue their participation and continued good results.
1. Online News Article Reading: Honors Review utilizes a mobile web site as a learning instrument for our computer friendly students. On our mobile web site, students have access to important news, history & science articles, and college information. We also offer help in improving reading skills by encouraging students to read a news article, summarize it, and send it to us every week. If you or your child would like to register to our page, go to www.4honorstutoring.com. You can find the App on the Google Paly and Apple store (type “honors review rutherford”).
2. Online Math Practice Program: We provide free online math practice ID to all students currently who are taking Math classes.

Our summer school will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Friday, from June 30 through August 22, 2014.
