Very poorly optimized. The app will randomly scroll back to the beginning of the chapter you were reading, fails to remember where you left off and can glitch such that you can no longer see the words, but just a black screen.

Worked fine until the last update. Now, the read aloud feature doesn't work, which makes the app essentially pointless for me since I listen during my commute. This app and the entire program are trash. Save yourself money and just use an app like kindle. I have now had to rebuy all of my school books through another program. I am also making my professor aware to stay away from this program.

It's beyond sh¡tt¥. None of it's functions work, impossible to read texts because they never load or the app stops responding and force stops itself. Ridiculous to pay the money we HAVE to for text digital textbooks that can't be utilized mobily, at least one can carry a traditional book with them to study while they are out and about...on a side note I love how glitchy the computer versions are too, suffice it to say cengage is not user friendly and nothing more than a cash cow .

Really seems as if the developers put a lot of time into this app. I really like they have the option to download the book to your device. I hope that they add the option to complete homework on the app soon.

Will open for minute and a half then close on its own. Uses half my phone battery in an hour and a half. Worst app I've ever used. It's easier and more convenient to find a pdf version of the textbook you need than use this.

The app is awesome! But it does not allow a way to access new books from new classes. I downloaded the app in one class, the material showed up, but it only show that class. There is no way of prompting it to find the new book.

About this app

The Cengage Mobile app allows students and instructors to stay engaged with courses, in-class and out. For students, the app offers offline reading, gradebook access, and notifications for key course events. For instructors, the app offers an easy way to check class grades, take attendance, and create polls that keep students engaged.

To use this app, you must have an active Cengage account. You can use the app to access:

- Cengage unlimited ebooks
- MindTap, CNOWv2, or SAM* courses and ebooks
- Any ebooks purchased through cengage.com

*(Note that SAM users must be either enrolled in MindTap or use SAM in conjunction with an LMS.)

Feature summary:

eBooks*: Download your textbook with offline access! Browse between different chapters, search for specific pages and terms, or take notes, highlights and bookmarks. Have the book read aloud using Text-to Speech.

Flashcards & Flashcard Quizzes: Study on the go using pre-made flashcard decks. Then check your knowledge with key term-generated quizzes.

Activity Lists: Stay on top of all your assignments with to-do lists! Browse all the assignments and activities in your course and view due dates. For World Languages courses, you can even do homework assignments in the app. We plan on rolling this out to more courses in the future.

Notifications & Reminders: Easily set up due date reminders and get notified of grade and due date changes.

Gradebook: See your overall grade for the course as well as the breakdown of grades by various activities. You can also view instructor comments and grade changes! Access to the gradebook requires additional authentication, by either password, fingerprint, or face ID.

In-Class Polling and Attendance: Instructors can check if students are in the classroom using geolocation or by allowing remote check-ins. They can also review and edit attendance records, and export them to their preferred gradebook. Instructors can also author in-class polls, review the results with the whole class, and export those results.

*A note on ebooks: We currently support the majority of course-related and Cengage Unlimited ebooks. Textbooks from 2014 and prior as well as international or custom titles are not supported. Annotations do not currently sync with web-based readers.
