I have been trying to CANCEL this subscription for six months. I’ve sent 2 emails, and gotten generic responses that point me back to an app that freezes up. REALLY DISAPPOINTED!!

This app is the worst of all the streaming apps on the ShieldTV. We regularly use Netflix, Prime, Disney+, Hulu, and even Peacock. Even Peacock runs smoother, loads faster. Extremely long load times for any content. Like minutes sometimes. Then, it may fail to load at all. Highly unwatchable. Updates never resolve the issues. Functionality is wonky. Like they're trying to reinvent the standard viewing controls, making them worse than useless. For example, when you're trying to jump past the opening credits and pick the last frame of those credits, it jumps a few seconds into the show, instead of at the end of the credits. Annoying. I could live with the wonky controls, lack of favorites, weird layout if the load times were improved. And I don't think its our internet speed as the above mentioned streaming services all are either faster to load, more predictable to load, or will actually load. Zero stars.

This app constantly doesn't honor subscription levels properly. I pay for add free and on a regular basis I'll see ads with everything. Also it prerolls episodes with the studio logo with a separate stream from ad servers so the app doesn't work if it can't communicate with them for that. I honestly think at this point you should be sending me a check for what you keep getting paid for all the ads I see on my ad free account.

Update: Cancelled my account (which inexplicably took a password reset, not using mobile browsers, and nuking my VPN) because they started showing long unskippable ads on the ad free version. Truly the worst streaming app experience I have had. Viacom is so greedy. Original Review: Man, I have had this app on my Android TV for months (CBS AA now Paramount) hoping it would get better. It got worse. Things I liked: The Recent Episodes list (which they have nuked with the switch to Paramount+ ) The content, (binging Survivor and the brain numbing familiarity of the 193 different Chuck Lorre sitcoms available which are somehow all the same) Things I don't like: - Initial load time is way too long - No ability to mark an episode as watched - They don't seem to keep track of episodes you actually did watch, because the same episode will play over and over in the autoplay loop and if you stop an episode you already watched after 10 seconds, it will never suggest the newest episode - No way to get to the show landing page other than starting to watch an episode and hitting the back button (which causes the issue above) - They got rid of the "Latest Episodes" list which was the one workaround for the annoying behavior above.

Signing in on an Android TV with your TV Provider is absolutely terrible. There's TWO DIFFERENT activation websites, and they're both linked on the app. One of them doesn't even work. Every channel has one of these apps now. This is, by far, the worst one I've ever used. If possible, don't use it, and watch in other ways.

03/04/2021: HUGE FAIL¶ In addition to all the other fails, the UI sucks. Bad. The 4-way (arrow) buttons will ONLY skip 10 seconds in either direction (tho you can hold down to skip many times). The FF/RW buttons will put you into "skim" mode, skimming forward/back at a much faster pace. That's all klunky-but-workable.¶ Of more import is the COMPLETE lack of having any sort of bookmarks, watch list, or even remembering where you were if you stop the show for a moment! That's right. Stop the movie half way thru by accident, and now you have to go find your place. I'm not talking about exiting the app here ANY stop loses your place. And "pause" apparently keeps the image on-screen forever - no screen saver functionality here. (I know, it's a minor point, but it shows these guys are amateurs at UI development). There is no watch list. There is no remembering that you've watched the first nine episodes so you just hit Play to pick up at #10. No. YOU have to scroll through the episodes and find where you left off!¶ One minor positive - You CAN turn off "Automatically play next episode" - it's in Settings/AutoPlay.¶ Oh, and before I forget, when the app launches, you cannot just hit LEFT to get into your menu. No, that will just scroll the banner. You have to hit DOWN first, then you can go left. LAME!¶ 03/04/2021: LIARS! Ad-Free is packed with ads! (This update after about an hour of watching and sitting through a half-dozen or so commercials).¶ 03/04/2021: WORST 1ST EXPERIENCE EVER!¶ I just signed up and VERY SPECIFICALLY chose the "No Commercials" option.¶ So I install the app, sign on, pick a show, and the VERY FIRST thing I get hit in the face with a commercial.¶ So I go to the website to see if I can get it fixed. Find help, see the chat button, click. Wait. Click. Wait. Nothing. Repeat many times. Nothing.¶ So I click the Email button. Fill out the form. Do the Captcha. Click send. Nothing. Click send again. Nothing. Repeat many times. Start over, retyping everything again, same result. Change browser and do it all again. Same result.¶ Now I'm pissed and I uninstall.¶ Suddenly I get a ding on my phone. Y'all just charged me $10.85. What happened to that "Free Week, cancel before Mar 10 to avoid payment" promise you made? I guess it's about as solid as everything else I've seen so far.¶ BIGGEST MESS I EVER SAW.¶ Now I'm a reasonable guy. I'll wait a bit and see if you fix this. If not, then I'll tell my bank NOT to honor the payment and mark you as frauders. Can I give a negative stars review?
