About this app

This ‘Landmine Awareness’ application aims to introduce individuals to the risks when travelling to countries with a landmine threat. By better understanding landmines, how they function and being able to identify where landmines might be found this will help prevent further injury and death caused by landmines throughout the world every day.

This app shows how landmines function, how to avoid minefields and what to do in a landmine situation. Included is access to a landmine database which allows individuals to have a better understanding of what anti-personnel and anti-vehicle landmines visually looks like on the ground. An additional database provides an insight into the landmines used within a country.

Regular updates and user contributions will ensure this is as up to date and a continually developing source of awareness training and information on landmines.

From within the application, users can contribute information reference landmines or on-going landmine incidents and distribute news feeds between users.
