The Rudra Mantra or Mahamrityunjaya Mantra, also known as the Tryambakam Mantra.

This mantra is also referred to as the Markandeya Mantra. The Mantra is ideally be recited 108 times, twice daily- once at dawn and once at dusk.

In fact, Mahamrityunjaya Mantra is a verse from the Rig Veda and is considered to be the most powerful Shiva Mantra. It bestows longevity, wards off calamities and prevents untimely death. It also removes fears and heals holistically. This eternal mantra is also a part of the Yajurveda.

The Vedic Mathematical explanation of the number ‘108’ is associated with the distance of the Sun and the Earth and also the Earth and the Moon which is 108 times the diameter of the Sun and the Moon respectively.
