This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing ReWire on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.
  4. Wait a few seconds for the installation to complete. Once done, the installed app will appear on the BlueStacks home screen. Click its icon to start using the application.

Using LDPlayer

  1. Download and install LDPlayer from https://www.ldplayer.net.

About this app

Do you feel like you have become digitally addicted to your mobile phone? The (Re)Wire App has been developed to minimize the never ending distractions caused by your mobile phone when you are driving, in a lecture, out with friends, studying, doing your homework, reading a book, watching TV and so on.

How Does the Mobile App Work?

1. Switch your mobile phone to silent. Before starting your specific task (e.g. studying, driving, lecturing etc.) open the (Re)Wire mobile app and place your phone face down.This action commences a timing mechanism which starts counting immediately.

2. The longer the phone is placed face down and not used the more points you can accumulate.You will earn a point for every minute that the phone stays face down. However, your points will only start after the first 15-minutes. If you use your phone before that you will not earn any points.

3. When you are finished your task you can stop the (Re)Wire app by placing your phone face up which stops the time counter. The app will then calculate your total points score.

4. Finally, you can take a screenshot of your time and points score data. You can use this data to "(Re)Wire" or modify your bad mobile habits towards positive ones. Try and beat your score each time that you use the app. You will be rewarded with digital badges for your achievements.
