‘এহইয়াউস সুনান’ ও ‘ইসলামী আকীদা’ গ্রন্থদ্বয়ে আকীদা ও সুন্নাত বিষয়ক বিভিন্ন প্রসঙ্গে ইমাম আবূ হানীফা রাহিমাহুল্লাহুর বক্তব্য উদ্ধৃত করে উল্লেখ করেছি যে, আমাদের সমাজের অনেকে তাঁর অনুসারী হওয়া সত্ত্বেও এ সকল বিষয়ে তাঁর মতের সাথে সাংঘর্ষিক মত পোষণ করেন। এ সকল বক্তব্য অনেক পাঠকের দৃষ্টি আকর্ষণ করেছে। অনেকে ঈমান, আকীদা, সুন্নাত, বিদআত ইত্যাদি বিষয়ে ইমাম আবূ হানীফা ও তাঁর ছাত্রদের মত জানতে আগ্রহ প্রকাশ করেছেন। কেউ কেউ বলেছেন: আমরা তো ফিকহী বিষয়ে হানাফী, আকীদায় আশআরী বা মাতুরিদী ও তরীকায় কাদিরী, চিশতী বা নকশবন্দী। আমরা কি ফিকহ, আকীদা ও তরীকা সকল বিষয়ে হানাফী হতে পারি না? ইমাম আবূ হানীফার কি কোনো আকীদা ও তরীকা ছিল না? থাকলে তা কী ছিল?
