A Sound Mind to SEE BEYOND
Genesis 14:15 above is an excerpt from the story of Abraham
and his nephew Lot. Preceding this, God had instructed Abram
to leave his father’s house, to a land that God will show him.
Abram obeyed God by Faith and left with his household, but
then, Lot (Abraham’s nephew) followed him. Both men were
rich in herds and flocks but at some point an argument arose
between the herdsmen of Lot and Abram. Seeing this, Abram
asked his nephew Lot, to choose a land to dwell there with his
herdsmen so that they avoid strife. The young man quickly lifts
up his eyes, sees and chooses the land that seems to be most
flourishing. When Lot separated from Abram, God spoke to
Abram, “Lift up your eyes now, and see!” – Genesis 14:14-15.
Everything we need has already been made available for us by
God: all we need is to lift up our eyes and see! Sometimes we
are blinded like Lot, by appearances, immediate gratification
etc. The best of life is not only found in another country or in
some persons or in a particular position – seek the voice of
God and SEE BEYOND! The best for your life us still in you.
Can you see beyond your present condition, can you see your
blessings in your pain, can you see water in the rock? Shalom!
