way faster than deep learning based object detection. Nice way of showing sometimes traditional cv algorithms will get the job done better on mobile depending on what you are trying to do. Lighting fast vs tensorflow object detection

About this app

Realtime Blue Object Detector - Using different algorithms for noise reduction and edge detection, this application detects and traces objects having HSV of different shades of blue between 2 predefined thresholds in realtime.

Simply point your camera at blue objects or at your surroundings and reveal the objects having shades of blue as the application draws a rectangle and labels it with text so that the object can be tracked even if you move the camera. Make sure that you are close enough to the object as it detects objects only having a size greater than the default size set in the application.

NOTE : As this application is based on the amount of light as it measures HSV( Hue Saturation Value), the performance of this Application may vary in dark areas or places with bad lighting and might result in bad detection of objects that may not even exist.
Hence, make sure there is appropriate light falling on the object and the distance from it is not too much.

ALSO : These applications are not professional applications in any manner and are just designed for research purposes or fun.

ALSO 2 : This application won't detect your Monday "Blues".

Designed using OpenCV SDK Version 3.4.1.

New features

- Added Runtime Camera Permission - User will be asked for the permission as soon as the application is started.

- Automated Realtime Recognition of objects - Does not require any button to be pressed or any image to be selected.

- Removed some non-essential native library files making the size of the application reduce significantly ( 100MB--> ~32MB).

- Optimised performance and fixed some crashes that occurred during application Initialisation.
