This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing Deflection Pro on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.
  4. Wait a few seconds for the installation to complete. Once done, the installed app will appear on the BlueStacks home screen. Click its icon to start using the application.

Looks nice but it's a pain to use. I couldn't/cant see where and how I can enter custom I, E, span and point loads and UDL. Each time I try to enter span it reverts back to 20m for some reason. Also the beam cross sections are not flexible enough, it would be nice to pick a cross section and manually enter dimensions and E to get EI.

LOAD COMBINATIONS

Deflection Pro generates common load combinations based on American and European standards. Simply select a desired design method in the settings page and assign a category to each load. The results are seamlessly aggregated and integrated into the same charts and interface as if you were designing a simple beam case.

BEAM COLUMN CAPACITY CHECKS

Deflection Pro calculates beam column strength capacity for flexure, shear, tension, and compression based on the AISC specification. The software accurately reproduces tabulated values in steel construction manuals.

NEW: Generate common US and EU load combinations using Allowable Stress Design, Load Resistance Factor Design, or Partial Safety Factors. Use the Document Options panel to select a design method, and then assign each load to a category using the load list view. Load combinations are automatically generated beneath the beam editor.
