About this app

Advanced warning:
This app is quite heavy as it shows relevant images to each headlines displayed on the news list. If you are concerned about your mobile data usage, be aware that this app may eat into your data allowance. It is best to use on WiFi connection.
-----------

I wrote GuNews app with the goal to get the headlines I am interested in, free from fake news and click-bait articles often found on the Internet.

Powered by theguardian.com the GuNews app provides real news and topics that would appeal to people who prefer caring more about their family, education, health, environment and well-being to hunting for bombastic headlines and trashy celebrities gossips.

If you belong to this type of people, then GuNews app is for you. It is simple and straight to the point and doesn't have features that would keep you glued to your mobile screen. In contrary this app encourages you to use it maybe twice a day: in the morning and in the evening just to check the latest headlines.

Note:

1. To get the full screen effect when showing the news articles please choose Chrome as browser. Opening the article with other browser will keep the notification and the app bar on top of the screen.

2. This app was tested on a few smartphones I own and in Android Studio device emulators. Please don't hesitate to contact me for errors and crashes and I will look into them.

3. To get the best results of the topics you search set the sort_by preference in the Settings to relevance. This app has newest as default, as it means to get the latest headlines.
