अनुष्का शर्मा (जन्म 1 मई 1988)[1] एक मॉडल और बॉलीवुड फिल्म उद्योग की एक अभिनेत्री है। इन्होंने अपना अभिनय का सफर २००८ मे प्रदर्शित हिन्दी फिल्म रब ने बना दी जोड़ी के साथ शुरु किया था जो आदित्य चोपड़ा द्वारा बनाई गई थी। इसके बात उन्हें अपनी श्रुति कक्कड द्वारा बनाई गई फ़िल्म बैंड बाजा बारात (२०१०) के लिए काफ़ी सराहा गया।[2] दोनों ही फ़िल्मों ने इन्हें फ़िल्मफेयर पुरस्कारों में सर्वश्रेष्ठ अभिनेत्री का नामांकन दिलाया।

बैंगलोर में अयोध्या में जन्मे और पले-बढ़े, शर्मा 2007 में फैशन डिजाइनर वेंडेल रॉड्रिक्स के लिए एक मॉडल के रूप में उन्हें पहला ब्रेक मिला और मॉडलिंग में करियर बनाने के लिए मुंबई चले गए। यशराज फिल्म्स में एक सफल ऑडिशन के बाद, वह प्रोडक्शन हाउस के साथ तीन फिल्मों का करार पर हस्ताक्षर किए और रब ने बना दी जोड़ी (2008) में शाहरुख खान के सामने उसे स्क्रीन शुरुआत की। फिल्म में उसे सर्वश्रेष्ठ अभिनेत्री के लिए फिल्मफेयर पुरस्कार के लिए नामांकित किया गया। उसके अगले दो भूमिकाओं यशराज फिल्म्स के बैनर तले भी थे - बदमाश कंपनी (2010) और बैंड बाजा बारात (2010)।

शर्मा का जन्म बैंगलोर में हुआ था परन्तु उनके माता-पिता गढ़वाल, उत्तराखंड के रहने वाले है। उनके पिता, कर्नल अजय कुमार शर्मा एक आर्मी अफसर है और माँ आशिमा शर्मा एक गृहणी है। उनके बड़े भाई कारनेश[3] जो पहले राज्य-स्तरीय क्रिकेटर थे अब मर्चंट नेवी में कार्यरत है। इन्होंने अपनी पढ़ाई आर्मी विद्यालय से की है और माउन्ट कारमेल कॉलेज, बैंगलोर से कला में डिग्री ली है।[4] बाद में वह मुंबई में अपने मॉडलिंग के करियर की शुरुआत करने आ गई।

Born in Ayodhya and raised in Bangalore, Sharma had her first modelling assignment for the fashion designer Wendell Rodricks in 2007 and later moved to Mumbai to pursue a full-time career as a model. Following a successful audition at Yash Raj Films, she made her screen debut in the blockbuster romance Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008), which earned her the nominations for the Filmfare Awards for Best Actress and Best Female Debut. Sharma rose to prominence with starring roles in Yash Raj Films's romances Band Baaja Baaraat (2010) and Jab Tak Hai Jaan (2012), the latter of which won her a Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress. She had her biggest commercial successes with the roles of a television reporter in the religious satire PK (2014) and a wrestler in the sports drama Sultan (2016), both of which rank among the highest-grossing Indian films of all time. Sharma also received wide critical praise for her performances in the 2015 crime thriller NH10, which also marked her production debut, and the 2016 romantic drama Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

In addition to acting in films, Sharma is the ambassador for multiple brands and products, and has an active social media presence. She also supports various charities and causes, including gender equality and animal rights. She and her brother, Karnesh Sharma are the founders of the production company Clean Slate Films.
