The reason for the downgrade on the rating: excessive ads & popups on the source sites. I am willing to pay to have those blocked. It has become tedious trying to read a story when only a third of the screen shows usable content. Otherwise, the idea of multiple sources for a news story is great. Make it easy to read again & the rating goes back to 5 stars.

I really hate the widget! It always collapses to a one liner title bar (Top stories) with nothing to display when you're offline, when there are connectivity problems, when actively refreshing content, & even when just scrolling down, while you're ONLINE. It shouldn't do that because it destroys my other widget layouts leaving a huge void for what would have been 8-10 news line items. Regretted paying for the ad free 'PRO' version without assessing first the poor widget performance. Horrible.

The best available, the one thing i would request is a settings export feature so if you need to reinstall you can simply reload all your filtered sources from a single file which would be great particularly when i filter over 30 sources

So far so good. App is unusable unless you buy the $0.99 upgrade as ads constantly push articles around. Upgraded version does not have that problem. Process for adding and removing Topics is very confusing with Xs and +s. Also, settings for Filter Sources requires adding text to name sources to exclude. It would be much better if Sources could be picked from a list so that names match. The Widgets are too large and there is no control over text size which could be used to adjust size of Widget. For me, Widget is inisable.

I love this news app. It gives options for dark theme and larger print for those with vision difficulties, and an option to open articles in my browser. It is similar to SmartNews without all the colors and constant crashing issues. It also gives multiple source articles under each headline. No need to waste time turning pages to find topics. This is a nice, clean, easy to use interface. Well worth the .99 cents. KUDOS DEVELOPERS!

Purchased NRP pro months ago, based on the free versions good work. Used several times a day. Love the clean interface, very fast loading, and wide spectrum of sources. Also love ... But it is now toxically riddled for some reason with a growing list of flaws : Article loading errors. Some bug means it's a dice roll (sometimes "retry button works, sometimes not . The very fast loading has become a game of "close app and relaunch to see if it feels like loading articles on any tab/topic. Endless * tedious and trivial sports news (when it works) puled from crappy sources, that I cannot turn off ftaking over the real news/my main headlinesgeneral topics section. No clarifications of what's Op-ed vs actual news articles vs some amateur's blog garbage. Unless I want to delete sources that also give me real content I care about. Weather that is always wrong. And way to short sighted. I wish it was the app it used to be. I don't blame it for the lack of pictures anymore in the headlines (some google-created issue) . But the parts where updates offer zero new feaures...like smarter personal topic creation (how about Boolean or at least tweakable filters) an alternate weather provider or weather interface with details most apps offer, save-for-later, etc. I don't regret the app purchase, it was a great value and one of my most used apps. But now I'm considering other news apps. Because I want news. I will improve this rating when the app keeps up with the times. Give me the chance to stl have USA today that isn't college football! Let me read about "Alexa" but filter out "Bliss". I hope this feedback doesn't feel hostile, I still love the app, but it's not working well -currently-.
