Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing BetterLap Logger on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.
  4. Wait a few seconds for the installation to complete. Once done, the installed app will appear on the BlueStacks home screen. Click its icon to start using the application.

About this app

BetterLap Logger is a companion app for the BetterLap.com website. It allows capture and streaming (via WiFi or mobile data connection) of GPS location and speed as well OBD2 data directly to the BetterLap servers. Recorded video is uploaded directly to the user's YouTube account (Google sign-in required). Once the recording is uploaded, the data is immediately available on the BetterLap website for viewing, analysis and comparison to other recordings from the same device, other devices or even other users. While primarily designed to be used in car racing applications (road racing, high performance driving education, track days, etc.) it can also be used anywhere a recording of vehicle performance and lap analysis is useful. A free BetterLap.com account is required for recording.
