About this app

The Panchtantra is a compilation of animal fables aiming at teaching the wise conduct of one's life.

The compilation is attributed to Pandit Vishnu Sharma and is considered by most scholars to be dated around 3rd century BC.

It is certainly the most frequently translated literary product of India and these stories are among the most widely known in the world.

The author Pandit Vishnu Sharma, wanted to provide maximum knowledge to three young princes through stories and examples.

The Panchatantra consists of 5 parts, and hence called Panchtantra - (Five Devices).
