Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing LiteCast on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.
  4. Wait a few seconds for the installation to complete. Once done, the installed app will appear on the BlueStacks home screen. Click its icon to start using the application.

About this app

A simple, lightweight audio podcast grabber app. Will periodically check for new podcasts and automatically download them to your device. Easily search for and add your favorite podcasts by selecting the search option from the menu. Ability to add a podcast source URL manually if search fails.

Customizable options include the ability to specify how often to check for new podcasts and whether mobile data usage is allowed for periodic downloads. Individual podcast sources can also be selectively enabled/disabled.

Upon adding a new podcast source, the app is configured to download up to 3 most recent podcasts. The default download frequency at install time is set to once every 60 minutes.

New features

Fixed existing podcast search functionality and added new option to search a better database, but without the ability to add the RSS feed directly. Also various bug fixes and updates.
