সূরা বাকারা অডিও ~ Surah Baqarah পবিত্র কোরআনের দ্বিতীয় সূরা যা সব থেকে বড় সূরা এবং এর আয়াত সংখ্যা ২৮৬ টি। কোরআনের সূরার মধ্য দুই ধরনের সূরা রয়েছে যেমন : মাক্কী ও মাদানী সূরা। মাক্কী সূরা বলতে বুঝায় যে সকল সূরা মক্কাতে নাজিল হয়েছে আর মাদানী সূরা হচ্ছে যে সকল সূরা মদিনা শহরে নাজিল হয়েছে।

সূরা বাকারা মদিনাতে নাজিল হওয়ায় তাকে মাদানী সূরা বলা হয়। মাসায়েল, বিষয়বস্তু ও আহকাম এর দিক থেকে এই সূরাটি বিশেষ বৈশিষ্টের অধিকারী কারণ শুধু মাত্র এই একটি মাত্র সূরাতে এক হাজার উপরে আদেশ, নিষেধ, হেকমত এবং এক হাজার কাহিনী ও সংবাদ স্থান পেয়েছে। হযরত মুহাম্মদ ( সাঃ ) সূরা বাকারা পাঠ করার জন্য তাগিদ দিয়েছেন।
