The content is great, but the app is poor with the most recent content often buried below older content. Right now the lead story in the app is one from three weeks ago. However, there is an alternative - use the website, which works great on mobile. If you want an icon on your home screen, Hermit allows you to create a 'web app' version as well.

12 June 2021 edit: why am I seeing adverts when I pay a subscription? Presently app unusable as I keep being asked to confirm my privacy choices with each click. Please sort this out. The app, on my phone, tablet and computer keeps logging me out. So frustrating. Cynical me thinks it is so I am forced to look at the very adverts I have paid to not see!

The content and journalism are excellent as always. But tiny light grey text on a white background is a poor choice for readability. Also keeps crashing after 2 or 3 articles. The old app was better in every way - readability, layout and stability.

Why, all of a sudden, are subscribers seeing adverts embedded within their articles? Thought one of the benefits of a subscription was an ad-free experience with the app?

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Every time they update the app, it can't keep me logged in. In addition, the latest update has reorganised what was a perfectly functional navigation system so I can no longer find a way to filter the 'plus' content or stories about smaller series like the BTCC out from everything else.
