About this app

Valéry Numa est né le 4 juillet 1974 à Camp-Perrin, commune de l'arrondissement des Cayes dans le sud du pays. Après ses études secondaires au Nouveau Collège Bird à Port-au-Prince, il a étudié la communication sociale à la Faculté des Sciences Humaines de l'Université d'Etat d'Haïti, niveau licence (1994-1998). Valéry Numa a suivi des cours sur le journalisme d'investigation (USA), le journalisme parlementaire (Haïti), la déontologie de la presse (Burkina Faso), l'interview (France) etc. A l'initiative de l'Ambassade de France en Haïti, Valéry Numa a participé en 2003 à un stage d'observation à France 2 et à RFI. Il est actuellement Rédacteur en chef de Radio Vision 2000. Par ailleurs, il est le représentant de l'Union Internationale de la Presse Francophone pour Haïti. Il a collaboré avec le journal L'Humanité en France et Reporter Sans Frontières. Il a été engagé au consortium PNUD-FENU-GTZ à titre de consultant en communication pour l'élaboration de script-audio dans le cadre d'une série d'émissions sur les collectivités territoriales.

Depuis 2000, il dirige l'EXCEL Institut de Communication et de Journalisme. Actuellement, il fait office de pigiste pour le compte de Radio Canada. Valéry Numa a déjà publié « Ces paroles qui restent… », un recueil d'interviews paru en 2003. Touchant au 7ème art, il a réalisé en 2003 un film-documentaire sur la presse titré « La Presse face à son destin » et en 2005 « VOCATION », une fiction traitant du métier de journaliste. Ce film a été primé au 2ème Festival International du Film Haïtien de Montréal tenu en septembre 2006 à l'initiative de la Fondation Fabienne Colas. Parallèlement à l'exercice du métier de journaliste, Valéry Numa dirige Index Production une compagnie de production audiovisuelle et Le Recul Hôtel une entreprise de promotion touristique située à Camp-Perrin.
